Gallery: BC School remembers 9-11

Two years ago, Karin Ward thought that people had begun to forget the impact of the events of Sept. 11, 2001. "So I wanted to make sure our children here at Beaver Creek School do not forget, and that they recognize our first responders and thank them," said the Beaver Creek School superintendent. For the second consecutive year, Beaver Creek School held a 9-11 ceremony Thursday at the center of the campus, with a pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence. The school invited Montezuma-Rimrock Fire District to present the flags and to be recognized for their contributions to the community. Ward and recent Beaver Creek School graduate and Mingus High School freshman Audrey Worden sand the national anthem. Math teacher Wally Kellett played Taps.
