75-year-old Al Slusser walks 75 miles for the Red Cross

From May 5-11, Cottonwood resident Al Slusser walked 75 miles across the Verde Valley, raising money for the American Red Cross to use for disaster relief. Slusser, 75, began the Red Cross Verde Valley Benefit Walk at the Jerome Fire Station. From there, he walked to the Cottonwood Fire Station, Cornville Fire Station, Sedona Fire Station, Village of Oak Creek Fire Station, Montezuma-Rimrock Fire Station and Camp Verde Fire Station, staying the night at each destination, before arriving at Verde Valley Fire District.
