V Bar V Archaeology Discovery Days attracted a sizable crowd over the weekend, March 22 and 23. There were demonstrations and hands-on practice of ancient technologies, including throwing atl-atls, making fire by friction, spinning and weaving animal hair, making and firing pottery and much more. Early American re-enactors brought a treasure trove of tools and useful objects from the period to help make the past come alive for visitors. Kenneth Zoll, author of Understanding the Rock Art of Sedona, gave a lively and well-attended presentation about the theories behind the amazing rock petroglyphs located at the V Bar V Heritage site.
