Gallery: Taste of the Verde Valley Painted Barrel Auction

The 2013 Taste of the Verde Valley and Painted Barrel Auction was held on Saturday afternoon, November 2, in the Stargazer Pavilion at Cliff Castle Casino-Hotel in Camp Verde. Taste of the Valley offered gourmet food, wine tasting from local wine makers, live music from guitarist Gabriel Ayala and his combo before the main event of the day, the painted barrel auction. Auctioneer Jim Scott, with the assistance of the Cottonwood Chamber's Lana Tolleson, called the auction of barrels painted, carved and accessorized as the grand finale for the event. The Painted Barrels of the Verde Valley Wine Trail is a project of the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce. The majority of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Southwest Wine Center of Yavapai College. Century 21 broker Jerry Butterbrodt was the highest bidder, purchasing his barrel for $1,100.
