Considered the bookends of the U.S. involvement in World War II, the USS Arizona (above) is attacked at Pearl Harbor in 1941, and the Japanese come aboard the USS Missouri (below) to sign a surrender agreement in 1945. Arizona’s planned WWII Memorial will include historic gun barrels from both the Arizona and the Missouri.
