With the exception of a few brief periods when he lived in Cottonwood and Sedona, Tap Parsons lived in Camp Verde with Barbara, his wife of 62 years, from 1938 until he passed away last week. He was a businessman, former mayor and councilman, and a revered deputy sheriff for the town.

During the eight and a half years that Tap Parsons served as deputy sheriff for the lower Verde Valley he built a reputation for compassion, common sense and humanity.
