The Poston War Relocation Center was located on the Colorado Indian Reservation. The government used forced labor by internees to build infrastructure like schools, dams, canals and farms for use by Indian tribes after the war.

Japanese internment camps once populated Arizona

The surprise bombing of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii Dec. 7, 1941 was intended by the Imperial Japanese Navy as a preventative measure to keep the U.S. fleet out of the Pacific as Japan planned its invasion of Malaysia.
