LAFS stands for Life and Fire Safety and it's all about keeping kids safe and making them fire wise. Twice a year the group representing the valley's fire departments and forest service wildfire crews get together to educate local kids with an entertaining and informative program designed to instill important fire and accident prevention information. This spring's program was all about good and bad fires in the wild, the responsible way to put out campfires and who to contact in an emergency. The valuable information was incorporated into an action packed skit that featured Vikings and a fire-breathing dragon - and Smoky The Bear too. LAFS performed two back-to-back shows at Camp Verde Elementary on Friday afternoon at the Multi-use Complex for K-3rd Graders. Artist Ann Rhinehart donated her time to paint the set for this year's production.
