Two environmental advocacy groups have notified the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service of their intent to sue, following the agency’s decision last April to deny endangered species protection for the Sonoran desert nesting bald eagle, several of which make the Verde River their home.

Verde bald eagles are headed back to court

The Center for Biological Diversity and the Maricopa Audubon Society have notified the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service of their intention to sue over the agency's continued refusal to provide endangered species status to Arizona's desert nesting bald eagles.
