Bugle: How long have you been living in the Verde Valley?
Jenkins: I have lived in the Verde Valley for the past 18 years.
Bugle: What brought you to the Verde Valley?
Jenkins: While attending the Northern Arizona University School of Engineering, my wife and I would come to the Verde Valley on the weekends to thaw out during the cold Flagstaff winters. We fell in love with the Verde Valley, with all its natural features and recreational opportunities, and realized this is where we wanted to end up one day. After a number of years working in the Private Civil Engineering Field and as a Community Development Director in Northeastern Arizona, we were finally able to set up our own Land Surveying Consulting Company in the Verde Valley.
Bugle: What is your favorite place in the Verde Valley?
Jenkins: My wife Toni and I are avid hikers and bikers and have many favorite places in the Verde Valley. If I had to pick just one, I would say Fossil Creek.
Bugle: What are some of your hobbies?
Jenkins: Hiking, biking and golfing.
Bugle: Do you have a family? Spouse? Kids?
Jenkins: My wife Toni has stuck by my side for the past 36 years.
Bugle: When you have a long weekend, what do you and your family like to do?
Jenkins: We have traveled extensively over the years and have grown to appreciate being at or close to home. We enjoy working on projects at home and taking full advantage of our hobbies.
Bugle: Do you have any pets?
Jenkins: We have had many pets through the years. We lost our last pet two years ago and have not gotten any new pets since.
Bugle: What music is in your car right now?
Jenkins: Just give me that old time Rock and Roll.
Bugle: What is your favorite food?
Bugle: What was your favorite sports team when you were growing up?
Jenkins: The Green Bay Packers.
Bugle: What is your most embarrassing moment?
Jenkins: While in Mexico, I accidentally spilled a glass of water on my mother-in-law's lace tablecloth. I explained to her in Spanish that I was embarrassed for spilling the water. Unfortunately, the word I selected in my limited Spanish vocabulary meant that I was pregnant instead of embarrassed. I can still hear her laughing.
