1/17/2009 8:47:00 PM Dick and Brenda Hauser Celebrate 50 Years of Marriage
Dick and Brenda met in Phoenix shortly after Dick got out of the Navy and were married on Jan.25, 1959. For the first eight years of their marriage they lived in Scottsdale where Dick worked for Arizona Refining and Brenda worked as an X-Ray Technician. Then in 1967, along with their four children, Kim, Kevin, Kristi, and Kerri, they moved to Camp Verde. Once they settled down Dick bought the Lumber Yard (along with Robert Adams) and Brenda went to nursing school in Prescott (with Bertha Monroe). But it wasn't long though before Dick pursued his real calling, and through a lot of hard work, perseverance (and help from Kevin), he built a successful farming business. Today he is retired, but his legacy lives on in Hauser and Hauser Farms. Brenda worked for Dr. Westervelt for many years, but eventually retired from nursing so she could help with the sweet corn and pumpkin crops. She has also kept busy for many years working in town government as the mayor, vice mayor and council member. There will be an open house at Dick and Brenda's on Saturday Jan. 24 from 1-4 p.m.. Stop by to say hello and share a story and some refreshment. For further information, please email Claudia at firstname.lastname@example.org.
