Cutbacks to SR 260 4-lane project will prompt design budget hike Tuesday
PHOENIX -- The state transportation board will hold a special meeting and study session Tuesday in Phoenix. One of the action items before the board would increase the design budget for the 4-laning of SR 260. The proposed $423,000 hike for engineering support will increase the design budget from $4.949 million to$5.372 million dollars.

MINGUS MOUNTAIN -- Early Thursday morning, just after 2 a.m., Yavapai Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Mingus Mountain on a report that a 60-year-old woman was wandering lost. She had been camping in the area with her boyfriend and wandered away after a verbal argument during the afternoon.

PRESCOTT -- A records request to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office has revealed that David Hess - referred to as someone "working on the campaign to elect Judd Simmons to the position of assessor" - sent Sheila Polk an email alleging nepotism in the Yavapai County Assessor's Office by County Assessor Pam Pearsall.

CAMP VERDE - A "T-bone" collision Friday evening in Camp Verde closed SR 260 in both directions for one hour as emergency workers treated two patients and the Department of Public Safety investigated the scene, according to Battalion Chief Eric Strauss of the Copper Canyon Fire and Medical Authority.
