Woman charged with attacking boyfriend with knife

COTTONWOOD -- A 21-year-old Cottonwood woman has been arrested on charges of cutting her boyfriend with a kitchen knife. Jania Villalobos is charged with aggravated assault per domestic violence. The alleged assault occurred Saturday just before noon where the couples live on South 12th Street.

The boyfriend told police he got mad because Jania had received a text message from her cousin with whom she had "cheated" before.

According to the police report, he said he followed Jania to her car and he tried to knock on the window, but she did not respond. Jania returned to the house and locked all the doors so he couldn't enter. The boyfriend tried reaching through the back window to open the back door. That's when the woman reportedly hit the boy several times with the knife cutting his index finger.

The boyfriend told police he then called his aunt because he didn't know what to do. The aunt called police to report the assault.

All those questions should have been asked. Then one would not have to come to conclusions of wether it was race or nepotism that motivated police.

lol.

Getting testy are we? No need to get nasty and insult people. Really not any need for that.

Oh and who said I was a liberal? What does politics have to do with this?

This is not the backyard clothesline . . . this is a Newspaper. Just wanted to clear that up for you!

You do know that 'The Bugle' is a Camp Verde Newspaper right? Do you have a mind?
Oh, you are a mind reader . . . cause now I think it is a racial issue?

I asked questions, because the article is not clear.

Critically thinking about this article, these are the facts that are presented:

Boyfriend is not named
Woman is named
Women cheated on boyfriend
Boyfriend is mad
Woman locks herself in car
Boyfriend knocks on window of car
Woman locks herself in house
Boyfriend trys to break in through window
Woman cuts him with a knife on the index finger to stop him from breaking in
Woman is arrested

What is wrong with this picture?

If you knew anything about journalism, you would know that I am just asking the questions that should have been asked by the reporter.

I am not admonishing the police or their process.

If you look at my first post (I know comprehension is difficult) you will see that all along I have been admonishing the newspaper for "cryptic blurb reporting." Have a little common sense.

Dear Maybe I missed something.

"Gotta love Camp Verde?" Not sure what Camp Verde has to do with the Cottonwood PD, but oh well, whatever.

Hate to point this out but if you have a history of violence and you use a deadly weapon, then yes it does have an impact. lol

By what gaia girl and maybe I missed something, write it is obvious that this is a racial issue to them. The fact that a female was arrested and the fact that she is Hispanic is conclusive and not to be disputed proof of racism. Never mind that she was using a deadly weapon. Never mind that there is not one factual piece of evidence to support this diagnosis. lol.

Amazing how the liberal mind functions, and to imagine we are the ones accused of being racists. How amusing.

The backyard clothes line at it's finest. lol.

The way this article reads, the BOYFRIEND should have been charged with attempted breaking and entering.

The boyfriend said he was MAD.

He stalked her to her car and knocked on the window.

CLEARLY she was trying to avoid him.

Then she went in the house and locked the doors to AVOID him, he tries to break in and SHE gets charged?

What is the boyfriend's name? Is he related to someone on the police force?

THIS is what we waste our tax dollars on? I see a dismissal of charges . . . UNLESS there is more to this story.

How many times has the Verde Independent and the Bugle gotten the facts wrong over the years? More times than I can count on two hands and two feet.

Newspapers are supposed to report the news, it is their job. Creating cryptic blurbs that make no sense and leave you asking more questions than getting actual factual information is not what they are supposed to do. You do know what journalism is, right?

They might just as well reported: "Women charged for assaulting boyfriend, more info to come." That would be factual and to the point.

Dear 'Wrong One,'

If it was his house, he has to PROVE it. What if she had an agreement to live there? Civil Matter.

If she has a history of violence that has NOTHING to do with a current charge. You can't be charged with a current crime because of something you did in your past.

Being impaired in a home is NOT a crime, in a car, in public . . . yes.

Go stick your head back in the sand. This is America . . . ANYTIME is a good time to ask questions.

And that is exactly what the reporter should have done before he submitted this to an editor who allowed it to be published.

What are trying to say 'Finest?'

That because she 'cheated' she deserves to be beat or charged with a crime?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she is HISPANIC?

Gotta love Camp Verde.

Spent over 20 years in law enforcement. This article would equal half to one full paragraph of a 3 page report. So it is just a synopsis of the incident. Have a little common sense.

Dear Maybe you missed something.

The Bugle is merely reporting the factual actions of the Cottonwood P.D. They are not delving into the merits of those actions.

Maybe it was his house.
Maybe she has a history of violence.
Maybe she was impaired.

For whatever reason the officer(s) on the scene made the decision that her use of a deadly weapon was not justified.

Your questions should be addressed to the Cottonwood PD, not the Bugle who are merely reporting on what the police did.

Actually your questions should be addressed in a court of law to determine if the police acted correctly or not. I am sure they had their reasons.

Over the backyard clothes line is not the place to ask these questions.

Is this the Bugle not getting the facts straight AGAIN?

Why is a woman who locked a man out of a house being charged with assault when he tried to break in?

Was she in fear of her life?

What is wrong with this picture?

She tried to avoid him, he tries to open the door through the window and SHE is being charged with assault?
