7/23/2013 1:58:00 PM Camp Verde man sentenced to 15 years for assault
PHOENIX -- Rosalio Perez Gutierrez Jr., of Camp Verde, was sentenced July 17 to 15 years in prison for a violent assault last March on the Yavapai-Apache reservation.
Gutierrez pleaded guilty May 6 before U.S. District Judge James A. Teilborg to the charge of kidnapping involving an assault.
According to the record, when he became angry during a domestic dispute, March 26, 2012, Gutierrez chased after a man who was walking down the street and wrestled him to the ground. Gutierrez held down the second man, pulled out a knife and began stabbing him repeatedly. The victim sustained serious and life-threatening injuries to the in the head and arms as a result of the assault.
