CAMP VERDE - Cottonwood resident Nicholas Joseph Reid, 24, was charged Tuesday with one count of burglary from a motor vehicle. Reid is one of two men involved in Cottonwood's 18th Street shooting and home invasion burglar and now held in the Yavapai County jail on those charges.
The new charges stem from a 2008 incident which occurred in Camp Verde. Reid was the subject of investigation of numerous incidents involving burglaries from motor vehicles, during that time frame. Evidence was located in one incident in which a DNA profile was obtained. Reid voluntarily provided a sample of his DNA to investigators. The two samples were compared, with the results showing a positive match of Reid. Reid is currently incarcerated pending trial at the Yavapai County Detention Facility on the Cottonwood charges along with Kyle Ritter. That incident occurred Feb. 15, 2013.
