COTTONWOOD - Cottonwood police swarmed the Bank of America at 611 Main St. and Cottonwood Street Tuesday after a morning robbery at the branch.

Detective Tod Moore said the robbery occurred about 9:45 a.m. and involved a man thought to be about 55 years old with graying hair and mustache, wearing sunglasses and a hoodie over his head.

He is believed to weigh about 190 pounds.

No weapons were shown to the teller, according to police. The suspect kept his hands in his pockets but is believed to have been wearing gloves.

Afterward, the man left on foot. No vehicle was seen.

The Cottonwood incident is similar to the hold-up of the Chase Bank one week earlier in Camp Verde, according to police.

Moore said they want to interview a suspect with a similar description who has lived in Cottonwood in the past, but police have not been able to locate him so far.

There is no indication of the amount of money taken.

@ Time for bashing/ way to funny

It seems your reading and comprehension skills are no better than your spelling and word usage skills.

Nowhere did I say my kid was arrested. The police now have a policy of handcuffing people for 'their own safety' while the cops violate their 4th Amendment civil rights.

What we need are cameras in squad cars recording everything said and done by the cops at all times. To use their own words, "If you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about."

This is just way to funny. So we always have the grammar police to step in. Oh ya lets not have a valid point, so lets point out someone's grammar, hahaha, he or she must have gone to the local High School to get there edumication. so many red necks combined in one spot. So its ok to rob a bank since they were dishonest??? Americans let it happen by living beyond there means. you all crack me up. Life is a B%^$% get a Helmut. Bad cops good cops yep everywhere. But good point from bashing. We would have heard all the news about bob loblaw sewing the cottonwood pd for unauthorized arrest. so why didn't you go after the pd bob???

Article comment by: Bashing? Really?

So now we have to LOOK and/or ACT a certain way in order to not be noticed by police?

Aren't WE 'only human' too? I thought this was the land of the free? I thought we had rights to privacy? I thought we were innocent until PROVEN guilty? Isn't what you suggest 'profiling?'

Would you have us hiding in attics in order to not be picked up?

Reminds me of a book I once read:

"The diary of Ann Frank."

What you said sir, sure says a lot about our police state and it aint good.

The banks stole BILLIONS in fraudulently forclosed on housing, they laundered money for cartels and they crashed our economy running a casino called 'dirivatives.' They have been found guilty of these crimes, paid a fine and its business as usual.

Sorry if I just don't care! If they catch the guy he will go to jail, unlike the banksters who only had to pay a fine and still continue their criminal activity.

Smart people don't bank with criminals, they bank at Credit Unions.

Your grammar and spelling is horrendous. Maybe you should focus more on that instead.

Is this guy for real? Who talks this way?

Mr police defender......why are you so angry?

Why are you insulting these strangers to you?

Why are you blanket-defending the PD, when there is good and bad cops in every PD?

Your posts give you the appearance of the rude, poorly mannered citizenry you seem to despise

IYOU DONT WANT TO BE BOTHERD BY THE COPS DONT LOOK THE PART OR ACT THE PART I have lived here for 40 years and never have I had a run in with these cops that were bad at least.

@ Time for bashing

I know that I, for one, feel quite secure and content knowing that we have a huge squad of cops with Humvees and SWAT gear to apprehend teenage girls shoplifting in Walmart, of the gaggles of teenage boys driving around town with impunity. Not to mention those pesky youngsters that insist on playing in the grass!

Yup, I'm sure glad we have more military gear on the way for our brave cops. Nevermind that working in gas station or a Circle K is about 7 times more dangerous than being in cop (In this town it's probably more like 50X)

My 18 yr. old son has been pulled over twice and pulled out the car so they could search it. The last time he and his friends were put in handcuffs for their 'own safety' while the cops tore the car apart. Both times they came up empty handed because he and his friends don't do dope! No tickets, no harm, no foul said the cops! No more problems since we took all the bumper stickers off his car.

The police quit being friends and neighbors to our community a long time age and comments from curmudgeons like 'Time for bashing' are the real joke. They're just not funny!
