COTTONWOOD -- This is the big weekend! Bring a blanket, but save plenty of room for a belly full of ribs, a jug of beer and great music all night long. It's the bigger and better 2013 Arizona Rhythm and Ribs. R&R is now a fully certified Kansas City Barbeque Society event and that means more competitive rib vendors. R&R is also combined with the microbrewery experience of Beer Thirty in the Verde with dozens of hand crafted brews.
It means there will be twice as many rib vendors competing for more prizes and there will be a full line-up of craft brews to wash it down. And then there is the music of course.
City of Cottonwood along with partners, Beer Thirty in the Verde, That Event Company and the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce team-up to host the first and largest concert, micro-brew festival, and now Kansas City Barbeque Society Sanctioned cook-off in Arizona. Rhythm & Ribs is the whole enchilada slathered in barbeque sauce.
Tickets are just $20 in advance and day of the event, and $50 for VIP seats. Children 12 and under are free with an entire section set aside just for the kids, thanks to AZ Inflatable Rides. A private tent for our VIPs will have the extra amenities including catered food, beverages, cigars and front row access to our national concert. Buy tickets now online at azrhythmandribs.com.
Acts include southern rocker Jimmie Van Zant with "Ronnie's Song."
Jimmie Van Zant will rock the town. With a TV pilot complete for a new documentary series, "Jimmie Van Zant's American DeTour," concert dates are pouring in, and his breakout album, Feels Like Freedom, (available in stores from Sony/RED), there has never been a better time to be Jimmie Van Zant. This is your chance to see the man and his band in action.
The Kansas City Barbeque Society Cook-off for those big competitors and ribs is just not enough, this event will also include (1) The Anything Goes Award, (2) the Dry Bean Contest, (3) The Sauce Award. (4) The Best Dessert and (5) the Best Hospitality Booth Award. Competitors will also compete in chicken, pork ribs, pork, and beef brisket. K.C.B.S. will be on site to decide the winning teams and award them with prize money and monster trophies that will need to be carried back to their town via helicopter due to their size. "We felt that taking the event to another level meant becoming sanctioned which will bring in more tourism for Cottonwood, said Gigi Rock", one of the owners for THAT Event Company.
People's Choice, you be the judge! Everybody has a style, flare, and a unique perspective, and who better to judge than the thousands of individuals attending Rhythm & Ribs. This competition will consist of local and non-local teams and restaurants competing in no holds barred baby back ribs.
