The 16th annual Bull Bash will be held back at its original location at Cliff Castle Casino-Hotel's Stargazer Pavilion on Oct. 11-12. This year the Fort Verde Days Bull Bash will continue to be held during the traditional Fort Verde Days weekend. The weekend will be full of excitement and bone crushing wrecks.
The first Bull Bash in Camp Verde was held on October of 1998 at Cliff Castle Casino. The proceeds each year have gone to the Camp Verde High School Wrestling Program and Camp Verde Wrestling Scholarship fund. The proceeds have helped the wrestling program remodel and build a 60-foot by 120-foot state-of-the-art wrestling room and help send wrestlers to State and National Wrestling Tournaments.
The bucking bulls will be supplied by some of the best professional rodeo stock contractors.
Several of the bulls have been in the PBR finals and other championship bull ridings. Top bull riders are from around Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Wyoming and Arizona. This year an added attraction will be the Miniature Bull Riding for kids 9 to 11 years old. It will be held each night during the bull-riding. Again this year you can be entertained by a professional rodeo clown by a local Camp Verde High School teacher, principal and wrestling coach, Bob Weir. His wife Daria Weir helps produce and secretary the event.
Tickets for the Cliff Castle Casino Fort Verde Days Bull Bash are on sale at Camp Verde Feed Store, Camp Verde High School and Bashas' in Camp Verde and the Cowboy Shop in Cottonwood. Pre-sold tickets for Adults are $8 and for children under 12 they are $3. Tickets at the gate will be $12 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
