At approximately noon Thursday, hikers found a body along the banks of Oak Creek in the area of East Wing Drive, Village of Oak Creek, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies on scene believe this is the body of Amy Davis, who was originally reported missing on Sept. 12. The identity confirmation and cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner at a future date, said YCSO spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn.

The body was located about one mile south of the location where a backpack belonging to Davis was discovered. There is no evidence of foul play, according to D'Eveyln.

"YCSO would like to thank all the concerned citizens who provided information and those that assisted search crews on the ground over the past few days," D'Eveyln stated.
