The Yavapai County AmeriCorps Project (YCAP) is currently recruiting for members to join our diverse team to serve at local non-profits in the Verde Valley area. YCAP is a project of Community Counts here in Yavapai County. Community Counts helps create non-traditional solutions to the unique challenges facing communities across Yavapai County. Our primary purpose is to mobilize and energize collective efforts to improve the lives of people in our region.
Here at YCAP, there is one full-time and two half-time positions available, serving 1700 hours and 900 hours, respectively. The full-time position is located at the Juvenile Detention Office. This member will serve court-involved youth in the Cottonwood and Camp Verde areas in setting and attaining educational goals.
The half-time positions are located at the Yavapai County AmeriCorps Project (YCAP) and the Yavapai Food Council. The member serving with YCAP will manage all press, social media, and local visibility for the organization in the Prescott and Verde Valley areas.
This member will also be responsible for planning and coordinating all National Days of Service, including the MLK Day Celebration in Camp Verde. The member serving with the Yavapai Food Council will be coordinating food education programs for Yavapai County.
Members will also be a part of a 26-member team that will focus on conducting service projects throughout the county. Full-time members receive $12,100 and an education award of $5,550. Part-time members receive $6,405 and an education award of $2,775. Members aged 55 or older may transfer their education award to a child, foster child, or grandchild.
