7/16/2013 2:26:00 PM 3rd suspect arrested in Yarnell Fire burglary
Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies continued their investigation into the burglary to a Yarnell home during the Yarnell Hill Fire evacuation.
Friday, detectives got a tip that 22-year-old Thomas Adams had possession of stolen firearms taken from the victim's residence. Adams lives in Yarnell and was associated with 27-year-old Dakota Slone of Yarnell, and 22-year-old transient Robert Frost, already in-custody for the burglary.
Late Friday afternoon, detectives contacted Adams during a Prescott traffic stop and he readily admitted possessing a .22-caliber pistol stolen from the victim's home. Adams said the handgun was still inside his Yarnell house and that Frost gave him the weapon. With a search warrant, Detectives recovered the pistol and other stolen property. They expect to locate more weapons as the investigation continues. Several search warrants have already been issued.
Adams was booked at the Camp Verde jail charged with theft and control of stolen property, as a prohibited possessor of a firearm, and trafficking in stolen property.
Suspects forced entry into the Yarnell home on West Way between June 30 and July 8, taking firearms, numerous high quality knives, coins, and jewelry.
Detectives continue looking for the remaining stolen property and the likelihood of additional suspects.
