CAMP VERDE - Unless more prospective police officers show an interest, the Camp Verde Marshal's Office may need to postpone its 2013 Citizen Police Academy.
Darby Martin, Public Information Officer for the Camp Verde Marshall's Office, says that as of April 22, the Marshal's Office has received three applications for its 11-week academy, scheduled to begin May 2.
"At this point," Martin says, "we're not sure what's happening. If we do not have between 10 and 12 applicants, we may need to postpone."
Courses include radio communications, patrol procedures, crime scene investigation, crime prevention, firearms, K-9 and narcotics investigation.
There is no cost to participate in the academy. Applications are available in the lobby of the Marshal's Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Fridays.
